| Sequelae of neglected pulpal infections of deciduous molars N Kalra July-December 1994, 6(2):19-23 DOI:10.4103/0970-7212.351637
Pediatric patients in need of dental care are many. Most of the children go without receiving this care. Well known problem of succedanous teeth as a result of pulpally infected deciduous teeth is Turner's hypoplasia. In the present article three cases of advanced pulpal infection of deciduous molars are reported. Also relevant clinical and experimental studies describing similar or related conditions are discussed. In the three cases reported here, severe pulpal infection of deciduous teeth resulted in excessive osteolysis of inter-radicular bone and early exposure of the succedanous premolars before adequate root length formation. The objective of this paper is to bring to light the neglected deciduous molar infections and to stress the importance of treating such teeth. There seems to be a very high probability of loss of permanent tooth in such cases owing to lack of root development.

| Conservative-surgical management of external root resorption N Shah July-December 1994, 6(2):25-29 DOI:10.4103/0970-7212.351638
External root resorption require careful treatment planning and execution. It is a common clinical practice to use calcium hydroxide in situations where hard tissue barrier is required as in cases of apexification, root resorption and perforation. However, the defect to be treated should not be in direct communication with oral fluids, as in situations like lateral root resorption. The case presented below proves this point.

| Comparative evaluation of tissue compatibility of three root canal sealants in rattus norwegicus : A histopathological study S Vidya, A Parameswaran, VG Sugumaran July-December 1994, 6(2):7-18 DOI:10.4103/0970-7212.351642
The Biocompatibility and healing capacity of Zinc oxide eugenol, N2 and Endomethasone and eugenol were compared and analysed histopathologically in animal models by the intramuscular and intra osseous implanation techniques.
Forty eight polyethylene tube implants of three root canal sealers were placed subcutaneously and intraosseously into rats. The implants were left in situ for a period of 1,2,4 and 6 weeks. The tissue response was analysed histologically. There was a marked variation in the tissue response initially. But all sealers elicited formation of a fibrous capsule in soft and hard tissues by the end of six weeks.
