Root canal morphology of mandibular incisors

96 mandibular central incisors and 92 mandibular lateral incisors were studied radiologically to evaluate the configuration of root canal system. Each tooth was radiographed from two directions viz. buccolingual and mesiodistal. 4.16% of the central incisors and 6.52% lateral incisors exhibited two root canals, 35.42% of the root canals were curved in the centrals and 39.13% in the lateral incisors. Apical location of foramen was seen in 70.83% of central incisors and 65.21% of lateral incisors.
