A SEM study of sealing ability of different root canal sealers

Sealing ability of four different root canal sealers were tested in vitro, under scanning electron microscope. In all the group, obturation was done by lateral condensation method, taking gutta percha as the core material with different sealer. It was found that zinc oxide-eugenol showed good adaptation to the canal wall compared to the other materials. Endomethasone showed moderate sealing ability. Between the two calcium hydroxide cements, Apexit showed better result than Sealapex.
